Founder and President
Peter is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who is committed to doing what is best for his clients in all situations. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 53, and 63 securities registrations and is an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, Member FINRA*, a Registered Investment Adviser. He is active in the Financial Planning Association and is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA**). Peter is also a member of the Martin County Estate Planning Council.
Peter and his wife, Michelle, live in Palm City, Florida, with their three children (Thomas, Madeline, and Bliss), all of whom are the real joy of his life.

Mike Hartman, AIF®
Michael joined Strategic Retirement Group in 2002 as a financial consultant. He is a graduate of Barry University and has both the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, which he holds through Commonwealth Financial Network® as an Investment Adviser Representative. Mike is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® Designee. He has been assisting individuals and businesses from all parts of the country for many years to solve their financial problems and enhance their opportunities. Mike is an active executive trustee council member with the North Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Mike is a native Floridian. He lives in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife, Leah, and his three beautiful children: Ethan, Emma, and Olivia. Mike enjoys a number of athletic activities, including golf, racquetball, tennis, and softball. Mike has coached youth baseball, basketball, and soccer in Palm Beach Gardens. Mike has also served on the Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association Baseball Board and has volunteered as a budget counselor for Christ Fellowship Church.

Steve Rusnak, CIMA®, CFS®
Investment Management Analyst and CFO
Steve is a Certified Investment Management Analyst™ and CFO of Strategic Retirement Group. He obtained his bachelor's degree magna cum laude in economics and political science from Florida State University in 1999. In 2001, Steve graduated from Florida State University once again with a master's degree in applied economics summa cum laude.
After working for the school board of Martin County for more than three years as its capital budget analyst, Steve joined SRG in September 2005. Steve holds his FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and is an Investment Advisor Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, Member FINRA/SIPC. In 2006, Steve earned his CIMA® designation through IMCA* and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In 2017, Steve added a Certified Fund Specialist™ (CFS®) designation through the Institute of Business and Finance.
Steve's primary responsibilities as the investment analyst at SRG include investment research and analysis, portfolio design, management, and asset allocation and evaluation. As CFO, Steve manages all aspects of SRG’s day-to-day finances.
When not in the office, Steve enjoys and supports all aspects of Florida State University athletics. He also plays racquetball whenever he can.

Brian joined Strategic Retirement Group in 2019 as a financial advisor. Brian obtained his BS in finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2007. He also holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network® as an Investment Adviser Representative. Brian has worked in the financial industry since 2010, first working at Merrill Lynch before joining Strategic Retirement Group. Brian has been helping guide individuals to reach their financial goals and plan a path for their future.
Brian was born in Minnesota but spent 23 years in North Carolina before moving to Florida in 2008. He lives in Port St. Lucie with his wife, Maureen, and his two active children, Padraig and Samuel. In his free time, Brian enjoys staying active by playing golf, softball, and tennis. He is active in the community as part of local chambers of commerce and sits on the board with the Young Professionals of Martin County. He also enjoys volunteering and giving his time where and whenever he can.
Director of Client Relations
Joyce has 32 years of experience in the financial industry. She brought 15 years of operational and sales assistant experience with her when she joined Strategic Retirement Group in 2002. Joyce began her investment brokerage career at E.F. Hutton & Company in 1987, then continued to work for Shearson Lehman Hutton, A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., and Merrill Lynch. She holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®, Member FINRA/SIPC, as a registered sales assistant. Joyce provides assistance to the clients of SRG with any service-related needs they may have. She handles all the paperwork and questions concerning transfer issues or Commonwealth accounts. She also assists in the implementation of client financial plans.
Joyce lives in Fort Pierce, Florida. She is the proud mother of her two children currently serving in the U.S. military. Her daughter, Brooke, is in the health service department at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station in Miami, Florida. Her son, Blake, is in the cybersecurity field of the U.S. Navy currently stationed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor. Joyce earned her associate of arts degree in accounting from Indian River State College. Joyce enjoys spending her free time competing in archery tournaments.
Client Relations Coordinator
Janine joined Strategic Retirement Group (SRG) in 2016 as our client relations coordinator. In this role, she fields a broad range of client inquiries, from scheduling appointments to planning client events, while providing indispensable service to our clients and ensuring the smooth running of our office procedures. Prior to joining SRG, she spent 14 years serving in the grain commodity/merchandising industry as an events and communications coordinator. Janine brings vitality, professionalism, and a mindset of service to her work at SRG. She has an unwavering commitment to client service and loyalty.
Janine is a native of Long Island, New York, and has lived on the Treasure Coast since 1996. She resides in Port St. Lucie, Florida, with her husband, Ryan, and twin daughters, Alana and Natalie. She enjoys spending time with her family, trying out new recipes and painting. Janine also volunteers as a child advocate with the Flordia Guardian ad Litem program.
